It's Snowy out here!

This is Dixie talkin'!

It is snowy here!

I love winter.

I always walk around outside and stick my paws in the snow.

When I was small, I would always hop around in the white snow!

The birds come out and always chirp in the backyard,

I chase them away after.

Also, the November Poll Votes closed!

The question was 'What is your dogs worst habit?'

We have received 4 voters!

1 for 'Jumping on Strangers'

1 for 'Escaping Home'

1 for 'Barking all Night'

and last but not least, 1 for 'Other'

Please check out the next poll question and vote!

Sorry I am late!

Fawn,

and White.

They are very energetic,

so daily LONG walks will do!

And they are loyal too, of course!

They are gentle and sweet, but the dog has to know YOU are boss.

They can become very aggressive if they think they are leader in the house.

You can do plenty of stuff on this page other than reading!

First of all, you can vote!

Every month, I will change the question.

Oh and of course, the questions will relate to dogs.

Right now, you can find this on the top of the page

on the right hand side.

Just scroll down a teensy bit and you will eventually

find it.

So far, 4 people have voted!

Also, I have put 'reactions' on the bottom of every post.

Feel free to click a box on what you thought about the post!

It will give me feedback.

Another thing is you can change the language.

You can find this on the very very very bottom of the website.

The Anatolian Shepherd Dog: Dog Breed Post #4

The Anatolian Shepherd Dog.

Amazing dogs, I love them.

But they are for sure not the only dog breed I love!

They are originally bred in Turkey and bred for being a livestock guard.

Also called the Çoban Köpeği.

They have dark fur around the eyes and nose.

These Shepherd dogs are strong and broad.

Their tails curl upwards.

The coats can be medium size or short.

Anatolian Shepherds come in the color

Fawn, Pinto, White, and Bridle.

Very loyal dogs and an amazing guard dog.

They have a powerful voice that can alert anyone when something is not right.

Training as early as possible!

This dog breed is not recommended for beginners,

to become an owner to an Anatolian Shepherd dog,

you definitely must know how to become the boss of the house.

You will need good patience too.

Average Height, Male: 28-30 inches (71-76 cm)

Average Weight, Male: 100-150 pounds (45-68 kg)

Average Height, Female: 26-28 inches (66-71 cm)

Average Weight, Female: 90-130 pounds (41-59 kg)

Life Expectancy: 12-15 years

This breed is a very heavy shedder.

So if you own or plan to have this dog, you will see hills of fur on couches,

carpets, floors, chairs, etc.

Grooming is definitely required.

but only a little bit of grooming is enough.

Thanksgiving is coming!

Hello Ania talking!

So as you all know,

Thanksgiving is almost here.

Now todays post will be about which food you can give to a dog!

So celebrate thanksgiving with your dog.

Pumpkin: It is totally okay to give a dog pumpkin! Just make sure you give them plain pumpkin

(cooked or raw). No pumpkin pie please!

Turkey: Give your dog only a small amount of white meat, bones and other spices or anything NOT

ALLOWED!

Mashed Potato: No butter or gravy on the mashed potato, give them plain mashed potato.

Vegetables: such as corn, corn actually gives dogs an energy boost!

Cranberries: For this, give them a tiny tiny tiny amount!

Stuffing! Everyone loves stuffing, and so does your dog!

Please note that you give them a small amount :)

A plate full of these can cause a very bad bathroom break.

Hope you have a good Thanksgiving day next week!

Dog Facts Friday! (Sorry)

Oh no. I did it again.

It's Monday!

Don't you just hate work at home?

Never gives you the freedom in your own house!

Anyways,

1. Dachshunds were bred to fight badgers

2. The phrase "raining cats and dogs" was made

in the 17th century in England. During

thunderstorms,

stray cats and dogs were drowning under the

water.

After the Thunderstorm happened, it really does

seem like it was raining cats and dogs.

3. Dog noses are like fingerprints. Each one is different and can be used to identify them.

Want to know where I get this information?

Well that is it for this post!

But not the only post today, it's tuesday right?

Dog Breed Post is coming up next.

See you then,

Poem Time :) #1

The Gates of Truth

Why don't you notice me?

I'm right here.

So peek through the fences.

Open your arms.

Make your'e promise come true.

But why do I have to wait every time?

Why does everyone around me,

have to disappear?

Don't take it as a punishment.

Keep trying brother,

because I know you will

Come for me.

So this is my Poem, and I will post 'Poem Time :)' every friday.

Just like "Dog facts friday".

So how do I do it?

I take my Ipod then play a random song.

I jot down every sentence I can think of while listening to this song.

Hope you enjoyed this poem!

(This song is called 'Crime and Punishment', very beautiful but sorrowful song).

This song actually came from a famous Anime & Manga, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood.

Hope to see you soon!

-Ania :P

PS: This may not be dog related, but this is a blog right? Blogging is for writers.

So why not write a poem in a blog? ;)

We haven't met yet!

Hello! My name is Mila.

Ania, a friend of mine, told me that she posted about the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.

We are great dogs aren't we?

Anyways, here is what I look like. (Yeah, I stick my tongue out sometimes... :P)

I live with a cat named Blossoms.

I don't think she likes me much but I try to become friends.

My owners name is called Katherine.

She has a blog about crafting.

Please click HERE!

It will make her so happy.

Katherine tells me that I bark a lot. My worst habit :(

When ever I see some kind of strange looking object, I bark and bark and bark.

But thats okay! I mean who cares anyways?

Anyways, do you know what I LOVE?

RUNNING!

I have so much energy, I get so happy when I get to run with my owners.

Well, this is my introduction.

You will definitely see more of me!

Basically I will be talking about how my life is going on so far.

-Mila :)

The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel: Dog Breed Post #3

Once again!

I am seriously sorry! :(

I'm late again.

There is just way too much work for me to do.

Anyways,

Today we will review about the cavalier king charles spaniel!

These dogs are energetic and will never leave your side.

A very active breed.

They shake their butts and tails with happiness because they are always joyful.

They have a round head, and a stubby muzzle.

Cavalier King Charles Spaniels have black noses and eyes. (I will nickname them Charlies)

Charlies will be extremely greatful when they see leashes.

They need daily walks!

Average Height: 12-13 inches (30-33 cm)

Average Weight: 10-18 pounds (5-8 kg)

Health Problems:  Gain weight easily

Eye Diseases

Back Problems

Serious Heart Problems

Deafness etc.

If you do not have any time to groom a dog.

This breed is not for you!

Charlies have long fur, which means they need grooming often.

Bathe and shampoo when necessary.

The fur on between the pads of the feet needs trimming.

Hair on ears need regular brushing and inside of ears need cleaning definitely.

CHECK THEIR EYES!

Check if they have any infections.

Also, make sure they are WARM and DRY after a bath.

Very important!

Well thats it for today!

If you are wondering where I get this information, I get it from a brilliant website:

This website is not only about dogs, it is also about other pets! So make sure you check it out.

Talk to you later!

-Ania :)

PS: The next post will be spoken by Mila, a friend of Dixie. In fact, she is a

Cavalier King Charles Spaniel!

Dog Facts Friday!

Hello guys,

Sorry about not being around!

I was extremely caught up with work!

Well anyways, it was supposed to be Dog Facts Friday on Friday.

Whoops, it is Sunday!

Dog Facts Friday:

1. A dog's nose isn't only used for smelling, but also used for cooling himself/herself down.

2. The dog is the first living thing from Earth to be in Space.

3. You spend about an average $5,000 for a dog to ten years old!

Again, I am really sorry about the lack of posts!

I hope this will never happen again.

It sure has been a very busy week!

See you soon!

-Ania :)

Halloween is HERE!

Halloween is HERE!

But what about your dog?

Tomorrow is Halloween, why not celebrate it with your dog?

So... Make pumpkin and peanut butter treats for YOUR dog!

Ingredients
2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
1/2 cup pumpkin (NOT Pie Pumpkin)
1/2 cup peanut butter (Cream or Crunchy, your choice)
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 cup water as needed

Directions:
Preheat your Oven to 350. Mix together all ingredients except the water. Mix well until the dough is firm and not to sticky. If it's to dry, ad a splash of water as needed, and if it's to sticky, add a touch more flour.

On a lightly floured surface Roll out your dough and cut it into shapes! You can do your cookies between 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch thick. It just depends on how long you want to cook them. Pop them in the oven for 20 - 30 minutes. They will get slightly brown and when you go to pick them up they will be nice and firm. Now place them on a rack to cool.

Frosting:
For this recipe I used just melted white discs with a bit of paramount crystals added, and a touch of food coloring. You can also use yogurt discs.

This is copied from a youtube video which teaches you how to make these halloween treats.

According to the person who made this video, she says you can eat it and it tastes like crackers.

Click here to watch the video!

Subscribe if you would like to see more dog treats.

Also, why not take your dog with you for trick or treating at Halloween night.

Dress them up like these cute dogs!

Please be aware that you do not make your dog

wear something it does not like.

It will not help the relationship between you and

your dog.

Hope you include your dog on Halloween night!

Bye!

-Ania

The Mastiff: Dog Breed Post #2

Today is Tuesday, which means it is Dog Breed Post day!

And I chose the heaviest dog breed alive.

Mastiffs are very large dogs that are born broad and strong.

They have massive jaws with sharp teeth and square headed skulls.

These dogs usually have a darker face with a saggy muzzle and

wrinkly cocoa brown eyes.

Their coats come in the color golden fawn, light fawn, apricot,

silver, tiger and bridle.

These gentle giants rarely bark, though they still do make an

excellent watchdog!

The owners need patience in training these dogs but you do not

have to train Mastiffs to guard.

Mastiffs snore, drool, and wheeze noisily so you must be a owner that do not mind noise.

Average Male Mastiff Height: 30 inches (76 cm)

Average Male Mastiff Weight: 160 pounds (72 kg)

Average Female Mastiff Height: 27 inches (69 cm)

Average Female Mastiff Weight: 150 pounds (68 kg)

If your Mastiff is heavier than 160-200 pounds, please bring your dog to your vet! Mastiffs are

prone to bloat which means they can get extremely sick.

It is a good idea to feed your Mastiff 2 or 3 small meals a day.

Even though these dogs are muscular and robust, they can easily get common Mastiff health problems,

which are hip dysplasia, cardiomyopathy, elbow dysplasia, prone to CHD, gastric torison etc.

I am in love with these amazing large dogs. They are so cute, gentle and silent... Unless when it comes

to sleeping. Mastiffs snore A LOT! :) But that is what it makes it cute.

Talk to you Later!

-Ania :)

PS: If I have offended you or your dog, please let me know and I am sorry if this does ever

happen! I do not mean it because all dogs are amazing and none is ugly or stupid.

Recommended Movie. Everyone MUST SEE

Do you feel like watching a movie?

This movie is recommended to everyone, all different ages.

But I have to warn you, this movie will make you bawl your eyes out.

A story based on a true story...

Hachiko: A Dog's Story

Even if you have the smallest heart in the world, this will break your inside into a million pieces

because this movie is very tear jerking.

It is about an Akita dog, found abandoned in a train station. A man was kind enough to take him in to

his family. They have the biggest love and it will never break.

That is all I can tell you, otherwise I will lead into spoilers.

Well I hope you will watch this fantastic emotional movie!

Goodbye!

A Breezy Morning Walk

Hey! It's Dixie speaking.

It's turning colder and colder everyday.

And Ania took me out for a beautiful morning walk, it felt great.

Autumn is sure the best season for walks.

Wandering around the lone field.

The color orange brightens the world everywhere.

Sunshine glows in a different angle.

Dampened Earth, frosted and fresh.

The blasting wind, crowding around.

A dog's pitter patter thumping frequently.

I love Autumn, I pounce on my owners every time I glance over the leash!

This season has the perfect temperature for one simple amazing hike.

Spicy scents fill the atmosphere, like apple,

caramel, cinnamon, nutmeg...

Sounds of rustling from the dried, lightened leaves.

Having your numb fingers touch the heated spiced

tea, feeling the good tingling on your hands.

So grab your hat, pull on a coat on yourself.

Open the door and inhale the freezing air.

Clutch the leash and go out for a refreshing walk

with your companion.

And this is what Autumn can do.

Did you know? Dog Facts Friday

Hello! Yesterday, I couldn't work on my blog because I was very busy.

Sorry about that!

Every Friday, I will write three dog facts that will be different every time.

Just to do it for fun and for the intelligence! :)

Dog Facts Friday

1. Dogs cannot eat apple seeds, pear seeds, macadamia nuts, grapes, caffeine, chocolate, cooked onions, and raisins. Some of these listed can be deadly.

2. Petting a dog can lower it's blood pressure.

3. The Beagle and the Collie are the noisiest dogs, but the Basenji and the Akbash dogs are the quietest.

On the third fact, it says that beagles are the noisiest dogs. Dixie, my crazy beagle, is never loud.

Which is quite unusual. She doesn't howl or bark much! :) Dixie is one unique beagle.

Make sure your dog does not eat any of those things listed above!

Dixie has accidentally eaten grapes, chocolate, caffeine, cooked onion in her life, but she never got sick before.

Also, come check in here every Tuesday for Dog Breed information

AND Dog Facts Friday! (Maybe I will add more of these weekly events later)

My thanks to you guys out there, enjoy this beagle picture:

It's a turtle :D

Don't be afraid to comment if you guys have any burning questions you would like to ask.

I do like answering questions. I promise I will reply to any comment I see.

See you soon :)

Common Mistake Found in Owners

Hello, it is Dixie over here!

Now some of my doggie friends tell me that their owners let them rule the walk, and they are boss

when it comes to a gentle stroll outside.

I look at them back with this puzzled face.

I wag my tail.

I bark at my dog friends.

And I say to them, "you guys, your owners shouldn't let you do that. THEY are boss."

Yes. The dogs are supposed to be behind the owner or beside them.

Sometimes, owners let the dog pull. This is a mistake because the dog thinks that they are in control.

So if you let your dog lead the way, fix it!

Do not let them lead.

Make sure the dog is behind you or beside you.

Don't let your dog pull. When pulling occurs, go the opposite direction.

Next time you walk them.

Don't let them lead.

-Lot's of puppy love

The French Bulldog: Dog Breed Post #1

Hello guys! Every Tuesday, I will post information about a dog breed. I pick out a random breed and I will review about them. I will definitely not make rude comments! Every dog is unique at its finest.

Some day, I might choose YOUR dog! The same breed as YOUR very own dog! So keeping checking every Tuesday :).

Comment below for any dog you would like to know and I hope you will enjoy these fun and cute weekly posts about dog breeds.

Today. The French Bulldog.

French Bulldogs are so CUTE. I mean come on. Who will say no to this adorable wrinkly face. Definitely not me!

Frenchies (nickname for French Bulldog) are built to be strong and they are broad. They have a big squared head with a 'squished' muzzle with beady little pop-eyes that are far apart, leaving a wide space between. The ears are pointed up naturally and are very colossal.
Their coats are smooth to pet and are extremely short.

But even if Frenchies have short coats, they are average shedders.

Frenchies come in the color

Black

White

Fawn

Bridle

French Bulldogs are loving, playful companions. They are alert and active, thought they do not make much noise. Frenchies don't yap much.
They need daily walks and will love to run in a field! Some Frenchies have higher active levels than others.
They do awesome in any apartments, but they cannot handle extreme temperatures.

Their grooming isn't high, regular grooming would be best.

This breed has some common French Bulldog medical issues which may add up your vet bills.
But these dogs are very strong and their life span is 10-12 years.

Average Height: 12 inches (30 cm)

Average French Bulldog weight: 19-28 pounds (9-13 kg)

If your Frenchie weighs more than 28 pounds or 13 kg, your dog may be overweight which may cause serious breathing problems :(.

Well its time to wrap up this post. Did I mention Halloween is coming up? Take your dog with you for trick or treating. It'll be a fun treat for all of those Frenchies out there. Why not dress them up too?

Maybe dress them up as a cow!

Happy Halloween!

Ania

Hey! For all of those dog lovers!

Hello! My name is Ania. I decided to make a blog about dogs because every one loves 'em!

They are cute n' cuddly and love to fetch (depending on the type of dog, not all dogs love to fetch).

A little part of me...

I own the craziest beagle alive.

I like to play video games.

I have phobia, fear of cheese.

Tight skinny jeans work best for me.

I love anything that is blue.

Any shade of blue.

Message from my dog...

Hey! What are you sniffing up to lately?

Now, it's my turn to tell you

'A little part of me...'

My name is Dixie and my owners call me the craziest, hungry, cute, beast.

Its true. I am crazy, hungry and cute, but I am not sure about the beast part!

I do steal food sometimes.

I drool, I beg, I whine, I will not stop until I get my food.

My favorite things to snack on are whole wheat bread.
Dog treats called "Dental Stix".
Kibble!

I dash and jolt everywhere in the house when my owners say, "Walk time!".

I am not aggressive. Though, I will only be agressive if someone is not welcome.

I do get jealous if I see my owner pet cats.

But the most important thing, I love my family and I am the dog that will make everyone smile.

So you guys must be thinking, what will you be expecting in this special fun furry blog?

Expect owner tips, reviews, breeds, basically everything a loving dog owner should know!

And don't forget the most important part of all, you will see ME in this blog!

Keep Howlin'!

- With lots of puppy love,

             Dixie
