Halloween is HERE!

Halloween is HERE!

But what about your dog?

Tomorrow is Halloween, why not celebrate it with your dog?

So... Make pumpkin and peanut butter treats for YOUR dog!

Ingredients
2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
1/2 cup pumpkin (NOT Pie Pumpkin)
1/2 cup peanut butter (Cream or Crunchy, your choice)
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 cup water as needed

Directions:
Preheat your Oven to 350. Mix together all ingredients except the water. Mix well until the dough is firm and not to sticky. If it's to dry, ad a splash of water as needed, and if it's to sticky, add a touch more flour.

On a lightly floured surface Roll out your dough and cut it into shapes! You can do your cookies between 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch thick. It just depends on how long you want to cook them. Pop them in the oven for 20 - 30 minutes. They will get slightly brown and when you go to pick them up they will be nice and firm. Now place them on a rack to cool.

Frosting:
For this recipe I used just melted white discs with a bit of paramount crystals added, and a touch of food coloring. You can also use yogurt discs.

This is copied from a youtube video which teaches you how to make these halloween treats.

According to the person who made this video, she says you can eat it and it tastes like crackers.

Subscribe if you would like to see more dog treats.

Also, why not take your dog with you for trick or treating at Halloween night.

Dress them up like these cute dogs!

Please be aware that you do not make your dog

wear something it does not like.

It will not help the relationship between you and

your dog.

Hope you include your dog on Halloween night!

Bye!

The Mastiff: Dog Breed Post #2

Today is Tuesday, which means it is Dog Breed Post day!

And I chose the heaviest dog breed alive.

Mastiffs are very large dogs that are born broad and strong.

They have massive jaws with sharp teeth and square headed skulls.

These dogs usually have a darker face with a saggy muzzle and

wrinkly cocoa brown eyes.

Their coats come in the color golden fawn, light fawn, apricot,

silver, tiger and bridle.

These gentle giants rarely bark, though they still do make an

excellent watchdog!

The owners need patience in training these dogs but you do not

have to train Mastiffs to guard.

Mastiffs snore, drool, and wheeze noisily so you must be a owner that do not mind noise.

Average Male Mastiff Height: 30 inches (76 cm)

Average Male Mastiff Weight: 160 pounds (72 kg)

Average Female Mastiff Height: 27 inches (69 cm)

Average Female Mastiff Weight: 150 pounds (68 kg)

If your Mastiff is heavier than 160-200 pounds, please bring your dog to your vet! Mastiffs are

prone to bloat which means they can get extremely sick.

It is a good idea to feed your Mastiff 2 or 3 small meals a day.

Even though these dogs are muscular and robust, they can easily get common Mastiff health problems,

which are hip dysplasia, cardiomyopathy, elbow dysplasia, prone to CHD, gastric torison etc.

I am in love with these amazing large dogs. They are so cute, gentle and silent... Unless when it comes

to sleeping. Mastiffs snore A LOT! :) But that is what it makes it cute.

Talk to you Later!

-Ania :)

PS: If I have offended you or your dog, please let me know and I am sorry if this does ever

happen! I do not mean it because all dogs are amazing and none is ugly or stupid.

Recommended Movie. Everyone MUST SEE

Do you feel like watching a movie?

This movie is recommended to everyone, all different ages.

But I have to warn you, this movie will make you bawl your eyes out.

A story based on a true story...

Hachiko: A Dog's Story

Even if you have the smallest heart in the world, this will break your inside into a million pieces

because this movie is very tear jerking.

It is about an Akita dog, found abandoned in a train station. A man was kind enough to take him in to

his family. They have the biggest love and it will never break.

That is all I can tell you, otherwise I will lead into spoilers.

Well I hope you will watch this fantastic emotional movie!

Goodbye!

A Breezy Morning Walk

Hey! It's Dixie speaking.

It's turning colder and colder everyday.

And Ania took me out for a beautiful morning walk, it felt great.

Autumn is sure the best season for walks.

Wandering around the lone field.

The color orange brightens the world everywhere.

Sunshine glows in a different angle.

Dampened Earth, frosted and fresh.

The blasting wind, crowding around.

A dog's pitter patter thumping frequently.

I love Autumn, I pounce on my owners every time I glance over the leash!

This season has the perfect temperature for one simple amazing hike.

Spicy scents fill the atmosphere, like apple,

caramel, cinnamon, nutmeg...

Sounds of rustling from the dried, lightened leaves.

Having your numb fingers touch the heated spiced

tea, feeling the good tingling on your hands.

So grab your hat, pull on a coat on yourself.

Open the door and inhale the freezing air.

Clutch the leash and go out for a refreshing walk

with your companion.

And this is what Autumn can do.

Did you know? Dog Facts Friday

Hello! Yesterday, I couldn't work on my blog because I was very busy.

Sorry about that!

Every Friday, I will write three dog facts that will be different every time.

Just to do it for fun and for the intelligence! :)

Dog Facts Friday

1. Dogs cannot eat apple seeds, pear seeds, macadamia nuts, grapes, caffeine, chocolate, cooked onions, and raisins. Some of these listed can be deadly.

2. Petting a dog can lower it's blood pressure.

3. The Beagle and the Collie are the noisiest dogs, but the Basenji and the Akbash dogs are the quietest.

On the third fact, it says that beagles are the noisiest dogs. Dixie, my crazy beagle, is never loud.

Which is quite unusual. She doesn't howl or bark much! :) Dixie is one unique beagle.

Make sure your dog does not eat any of those things listed above!

Dixie has accidentally eaten grapes, chocolate, caffeine, cooked onion in her life, but she never got sick before.

Also, come check in here every Tuesday for Dog Breed information

AND Dog Facts Friday! (Maybe I will add more of these weekly events later)

My thanks to you guys out there, enjoy this beagle picture:

It's a turtle :D

Don't be afraid to comment if you guys have any burning questions you would like to ask.

I do like answering questions. I promise I will reply to any comment I see.

See you soon :)

Common Mistake Found in Owners

Hello, it is Dixie over here!

Now some of my doggie friends tell me that their owners let them rule the walk, and they are boss

when it comes to a gentle stroll outside.

I look at them back with this puzzled face.

I wag my tail.

I bark at my dog friends.

And I say to them, "you guys, your owners shouldn't let you do that. THEY are boss."

Yes. The dogs are supposed to be behind the owner or beside them.

Sometimes, owners let the dog pull. This is a mistake because the dog thinks that they are in control.

So if you let your dog lead the way, fix it!

Do not let them lead.

Make sure the dog is behind you or beside you.

Don't let your dog pull. When pulling occurs, go the opposite direction.

Next time you walk them.

Don't let them lead.

The French Bulldog: Dog Breed Post #1

Hello guys! Every Tuesday, I will post information about a dog breed. I pick out a random breed and I will review about them. I will definitely not make rude comments! Every dog is unique at its finest.

Some day, I might choose YOUR dog! The same breed as YOUR very own dog! So keeping checking every Tuesday :).

Comment below for any dog you would like to know and I hope you will enjoy these fun and cute weekly posts about dog breeds.

Today. The French Bulldog.

French Bulldogs are so CUTE. I mean come on. Who will say no to this adorable wrinkly face. Definitely not me!

Frenchies (nickname for French Bulldog) are built to be strong and they are broad. They have a big squared head with a 'squished' muzzle with beady little pop-eyes that are far apart, leaving a wide space between. The ears are pointed up naturally and are very colossal.
Their coats are smooth to pet and are extremely short.

But even if Frenchies have short coats, they are average shedders.

Frenchies come in the color

Black

White

Fawn

Bridle

French Bulldogs are loving, playful companions. They are alert and active, thought they do not make much noise. Frenchies don't yap much.
They need daily walks and will love to run in a field! Some Frenchies have higher active levels than others.
They do awesome in any apartments, but they cannot handle extreme temperatures.

Their grooming isn't high, regular grooming would be best.

This breed has some common French Bulldog medical issues which may add up your vet bills.
But these dogs are very strong and their life span is 10-12 years.

Average Height: 12 inches (30 cm)

Average French Bulldog weight: 19-28 pounds (9-13 kg)

If your Frenchie weighs more than 28 pounds or 13 kg, your dog may be overweight which may cause serious breathing problems :(.

Well its time to wrap up this post. Did I mention Halloween is coming up? Take your dog with you for trick or treating. It'll be a fun treat for all of those Frenchies out there. Why not dress them up too?

Maybe dress them up as a cow!

Happy Halloween!

Ania

Hey! For all of those dog lovers!

Hello! My name is Ania. I decided to make a blog about dogs because every one loves 'em!

They are cute n' cuddly and love to fetch (depending on the type of dog, not all dogs love to fetch).

A little part of me...

I own the craziest beagle alive.

I like to play video games.

I have phobia, fear of cheese.

Tight skinny jeans work best for me.

I love anything that is blue.

Any shade of blue.

Message from my dog...

Hey! What are you sniffing up to lately?

Now, it's my turn to tell you

'A little part of me...'

My name is Dixie and my owners call me the craziest, hungry, cute, beast.

Its true. I am crazy, hungry and cute, but I am not sure about the beast part!

I do steal food sometimes.

I drool, I beg, I whine, I will not stop until I get my food.

My favorite things to snack on are whole wheat bread.
Dog treats called "Dental Stix".
Kibble!

I dash and jolt everywhere in the house when my owners say, "Walk time!".

I am not aggressive. Though, I will only be agressive if someone is not welcome.

I do get jealous if I see my owner pet cats.

But the most important thing, I love my family and I am the dog that will make everyone smile.

So you guys must be thinking, what will you be expecting in this special fun furry blog?

Expect owner tips, reviews, breeds, basically everything a loving dog owner should know!

And don't forget the most important part of all, you will see ME in this blog!

Keep Howlin'!

- With lots of puppy love,

             Dixie
